Anyone else who iddnt watch it yet and just went too the comment EARLY.

Heckerling for us a bit younger is mostly known for the witty and funny Clueless (1995) but if we bother to dig deeper in her film catalog we will find this early 80s teen flick. A very famous one for that matter. With a script written by Cameron Crowe we get to follow a few teenagers in high school and it's sometimes funny, sometimes, embarrassing and sometimes downright stupid. It's still a great comedy if you want something easy and something to laugh to. Heckerling did great translating Crowes script in to moving pictures. Definitely recommended if you are interested in early 80s teen comedies.

No Julia, Shia was the MVP. But Morgan Freeman was definitely close. Great story! I wish I was sitting down drinking a pitcher of beer with you while you told it. Maybe two pitchers. Two great performing their respective characters with just the right amount zing and not going too over the top. Superb character development in a compact 2 minute package. 1:21 Nicolas Cage in his first movie. Lawndogmoon2. well I was lawndogmoon but when YouTube forced Google+ on all accounts, I had problems figuring things out and somehow ended up with three YouTube accounts. The one that had all my videos somehow became unnamed and one of the two new ones became lawndogmoon. I couldn't figure out how to transfer the videos to this new lawndogmoon account, but I was able to figure out how to change the now unnamed channel with the videos to something else. So to avoid confusion since I had three accounts I just renamed it lawndogmoon2. Google+ messed me up! lol.

…. Imagine Shia and Daniel Day Lewis in the same movie. Battle of the method actors. 😂 Penn and Pitt kept smiling when it was Shia turn. Mr Hand was more like the teachers I remember in Junior High, not high school.

1:45 when the boss asks if you can come in on your day off. Everyone is reading calmly and Shia is out here putting 100% in his scenes. Got talk love him. Way to make a first impression to your fellow classmates Spicoli. Always late, Shirt unbuttoned with a bagel jammed in his Jeans. It would be more funnier if it were a banana. 😂😂🤣🤣.

Funny and highly dramatic at the same time, Fast Times at Ridgemont High" was released shortly before the AIDS scare of the 1980s. This is the last real film that deals with the innocence of adolescents in a world where risks were becoming greater and prices were becoming higher for younger age groups. Ridgemont is just a typical early-1980s high school in California. There are the pot-smoking surfer slackers, Sean Penn, Anthony Edwards and Eric Stoltz) the shy and compassionate ticket-taker at the local movie theater (Brian Backer) the working class hot-shots (Judge Reinhold, Nicolas Coppola and Scott Thomson) the sneaky ticket-scalper (Rick Romanus) the all-world football player (Forest Whitaker) and then there are the naive young girls (Phoebe Cates and Jennifer Jason Leigh) who think they know everything, but do not know half of what they think they know. Their paths will sometimes cross and sometimes not in this comedy that is harsh due to its strong dramatic elements. Drug-abuse, under-age drinking, under-age sex, abortions, destruction of property, the list goes on. "Fast Times at Ridgemont High" pushes the envelope on growing up in America in the 1980s. Teens love the film because they relate to the silly situations shown here, while many older adults shy away because they do not want to open their eyes to what really goes on with America's youth. The film is an educational tool that is covered with a light candy shell. When you get to its core it is a somewhat disturbing film that is about any high school in the U.S.A. A revolutionary film that is almost a complete success, but does have many shortcomings admittedly. Sometimes the tastefulness of the film-makers must come into question here, but most things are warranted. And let there be a warning: the activities in "Fast Times at Ridgemont High" are tame by today's standards for high school people. Ray Walston is solid as a history professor. Nicolas Coppola would later become Oscar-winner Nicolas Cage and of course Sean Penn and Jennifer Jason Leigh are two of the cinema's finest performers today. 3.5 out of 5 stars.

Why was Shia filming from his car and getting in and out of it constantly. I love Judge Reinhold's character in this film. Sean Penn was so lovable and cuddly when he was just an urchin. I was watching Elon Musk video and came here. makes sense. This film is extremely powerful and ahead of its time. I so wish that they would show this movie, along with one crazy summer and the great outdoors. O Yeah can't forget about some kind of wonderful. all these movies are still awesome, my favorite of all times.
